…pursue that consecration and holiness
without which no one will [ever] see the Lord
Exercise foresight and be on the watch
to look [after one another],
to see that no one falls back from
and fails to secure God’s grace
(His unmerited favor and spiritual blessing),
in order that no root of resentment
(rancor, bitterness or hatred) shoot forth
and cause trouble and bitter torment,
and the many become contaminated and defiled by it;
Hebrews 12:14-15 AMP
God’s plan is for us to recognize that we are consecrated in His presence through prayer. Remember daily who you are in Christ never forgetting and falling back to the old way of thinking. Each day ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any resentment you may be keeping. This is serious because the side effects of bitterness and hatred will ruin your relationship with God. Expose old sniveling resentments from our twisted past residing deep within your soul. Take note of past hurts and bitterness that will damage all your relationships even with God. Resentment is a cancer of the soul that ruins a person’s outlook on life. Unforgiveness has a price that will be paid on the judgement day but also causes problems in your everyday life. Selfishness tricks our brains into thinking that God is not in control, so we try to live life on our own.
