Chapter 3 – The Faithful Act Like They Know Christ

1 So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it.  Pursue the things over which Christ presides.
2 Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you.  Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ–that’s where the action is.  See things from his perspective.
3 Your old life is dead.  Your new life, which is your real life–even though invisible to spectators–is with Christ in God.  He is your life. THE MESSAGE

What is faith?  This is knowing who you are in Christ by seeing yourself in Him in the heavenlies.  But, it is not just knowledge.  Faith is knowing Jesus and acting like you know him personally while living upon the earth.  A manifestation of the kingdom of heaven on earth in your life, because you serve the one true king.

How to we look up and see, then understand the things of heaven?  How can we clearly see what is going on around Christ?  We need to know where Jesus is and this needs to be where we want to be.  We must want to live in his presence of mercy, grace, life, love and eternal future.  Cause us to be absorbed with Jesus.  Minister to us in a way that causes us to read the Bible and pray as never before.  Our old life in this world with parties, purchases and monetary investments is dead.

Thank you for the truth that we must hunger and thirst for God, then the Holy Spirit will reveal Him mightily in our hearts.  We want to know Jesus better.  We want to dwell with Him in the heavenlies.  We want to know we are completely free of sins with their guilt and temptation.  This all comes in our desire to know the Father through the Son, by praying, fasting and persisting in everything that brings us closer to Him.  The answer is to seek Him with your whole heart, mind and soul.

We must look to the heavenlies where Christ is seated by faith knowing he has prepared this place for us already.  In Jesus name we should not live, “according to the course of this world.”  We are not truly members of this present age.  We must make a decision not to be under the influence of natural things, therefore following the trends of the age, with the world’s opinions, tendencies, and ideas. (Simpson, p.98)
